Marie Anderson, 32, emigrated to Australia when she was just a baby, however she returned to the UK with her mother at just two years old. Her father Jim Anderson, a plumber by trade, stayed out in Australia and Marie lost all childhood contact with her dad.

Marie said: ‘At 18 I decided I wanted to contact my father and up until the age of 25 we had some contact, although this was just by phone. We did not meet in person.’

It was during this period that Marie found out from her father that she had a half-sister who was called Clare Anderson, although her surname may have changed if she has married. Having lost touch again, Marie recently found out that Jim, who was originally from Scotland, had passed away in Australia in November at the age of 65.

However with Clare mentioned in the will Marie is now looking to finally track down her half-sister and is hoping News readers can help to locate her.

She added: ‘I know she is about 10 years older than me and so she will be around 42. Her mother was called Sue and she was from Portsmouth and so Clare may well still live in the area or have connections.

‘The executor of my father’s will also revealed that Clare has a brother who is four years older. He is called Jack but he is not my father’s son.’

Anyone who thinks they may know Clare or can help locate her are asked to contact Marie on her Facebook page.

Marie said: ‘If something good can come out of this and I am able to find my half-sister then that would be great.’
