A NEW cinema is about to open its doors to parents and their children.

Cinemums is a project providing families with young parents the chance to enjoy watching films.

It is having its first showing on May 7 at The Square Tower, Broad Street, Old Portsmouth and will be showing Dirty Dancing.

Steve Hender, manager of the Square Tower, said: ’We’re all really excited about this new cinema project for parents and tots.

‘There’s been a lot of great feedback from parents saying they love the idea and it’s a fantastic way to make use of this amazing building.

‘We can offer refreshments, a space for buggies and changing, as well as 100 seats for parents and children.’

Admission is free but a donation is asked for to go towards the charity, the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
