It comes as bosses at the Groundlings Theatre in Kent Street, Portsea say it is ‘bursting at the seams' after collecting items from shows over the past 20 years.

The venue has a wardrobe of more than 11,000 costumes and props and will be selling off those it no longer uses.

Among the goodies up for grabs at the sale from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, August 17 will be a classic typewriter used in the Great Gatsby.

Artistic director Richard Stride, who has been building the collection, said proceeds from the sale will support the theatre's future work – including ‘exciting projects’.
