LAST year Poppy Tremain entered two categories but she didn’t win.
However that didn’t put off the 25-year-old and she vowed to come back brighter and stronger this year.
The determined lady said she wasn’t going to stop until she got a trophy.
This year that wish was fulfilled with Poppy winning the Apprentice Of The Year category.
Poppy, of Western Parade, Southsea, trained at HaHa Hair Academy and has worked for Medusa in Southsea for two years.
She said: ‘I’ve always had a love for hairdressing, I come from a family of six girls so we’re all pretty into our beauty and our hair.
‘My family are really proud of me and really supportive, they’ve shared it all over Facebook and everyone’s congratulated me.
‘You get people who don’t really express their work a lot, with my work I’m always doing social networking
‘If you’re training to be a hairdresser, it’s really important that you get yourself known.’
The judges were impressed by Poppy’s innovative use of colour and her friendly nature with her clients.
She said: ‘I’ve made some friends for forever with my clients. Sometimes people come in just for a chat and that’s really, genuinely nice.’
