CHEEKY chappies who go all out to give their clients the best possible service secured the Library Barbers Club Of Southsea the Hair Salon Of The Year accolade.
The barber shop, in Victoria Road South, Southsea, beat scores of salons to the top spot.
Joshua Carroll-Smith, 27, opened the salon last year and said he was delighted to win at this year’s awards.
Joshua, from Southsea, said: ‘There are four of us that give our everything, every day and we have beaten a lot of big salons.
‘We appreciate the gratitude that we’ve got.’
Joshua works in the salon with Will Hynes, 26, Josh Sawyer, 24, who won Barber Of The Year, and Ryan Searle, 22, who was runner-up in the Barber Of The Year category.
Josh said: ‘Because it’s hair and beauty, barber shops often get overlooked. But being a barber shop we are such a skilled set of people.
‘Sometimes the name barber overlooks the fact that we are skilled and the fact we have won this award shows that we have been appreciated. I am so chuffed.’
Joshua said he plans to carry on with the easy-going fun nature of the shop and he hopes his way of working will change the industry.
He said ‘We will keep doing what we are doing.
‘We are always working hard and we are passionate about what we do.
‘As the boss, the boys always smash it every day and I couldn’t thank them enough as they have been incredibly dedicated to what they are doing. We will keep doing what we are doing, and enjoying it.’
- In Tuesday’s print edition of The News we incorrectly said Will Hynes owned the salon. The salon is actually owned by Joshua Carroll-Smith. Will just works for the salon. We apologise for the error and are happy to clarify.
