CREATIVITY and enthusiasm bagged the award for talented Naomi Pilcher.
The 22-year-old has worked at Tony Wood Hair, in Castle Road, Southsea, for the past two years.
She started out at the salon and has worked her way up to junior stylist – and now she’s earned the title of the best junior stylist in Portsmouth.
Naomi, of Campbell Road, Southsea, said she had worked incredibly hard to get where she is today.
She was so happy to receive the award.
She said: ‘I am shaking and I am so pleased.
‘I have worked so hard at the salon over the past two years and I’m delighted to have won.’
Naomi turned her hand to hairdressing after completing her A-levels and working briefly in a fabric shop, moving on to complete an apprenticeship at Fareham College.
She then continued her training and development at Tony Wood Hair, in Southsea.
Naomi and the Tony Wood team had a great night at the ceremony.
She said: ‘The evening was great, it was such a lovely night.
‘I was pretty proud and I did strut around with the award all night.
‘I’ve been shortlisted for quite a few other awards before as well, but I’ve never actually won one so it’s really nice to actually take the award home with me this year.
‘Everyone in my family is very proud.’
She’s previously attended the ceremony for three years, although this is the first time she had entered the Junior Stylist of the Year award.
She said: ‘I’m over the moon – absolutely ecstatic.’
