FOR a quarter of a century Lisa Andrews has placed men’s grooming at the heart of her business.
The salon owner was nominated for this award after receiving glowing reports from her staff.
The 43-year-old, who has two salons, said she was surprised on the night to hear her name called out.
She said: ‘I was not expecting it because there is tough competition out there.’
The night was made extra-special for Lisa, from North End, as her salon – L.A. Barbers – also won the Readers’ Choice category.
She said: ‘The fact we won readers’ choice and lifetime achievement is a big bonus for me
‘I love men’s grooming and I have been doing it for 25 years now. I just love it – that’s the key to it, loving what you are doing.’
Lisa also credited her team for working hard and ensuring the salon is a friendly place to be.
She said: ‘I have a really good team. That’s what makes everything work perfectly.’
She thanked her staff – Lindsey Burton, Jemma Good, Sonny Collins, Jodie Robertson, Leanne Hinks and Clare Hearne – for all their hard work.
Jemma, from Cowplain, said that Lisa was the best boss she had ever had.
The 30-year-old said: ‘Lisa deserves the lifetime achievement award so much.
‘I started three years ago and knew nothing and she’s built me up from that to where I am now. She is amazing.’
Leanne, from Cosham, agreed.
The 29-year-old said: ‘She is amazing to work for.’
Lisa’s proud husband Paul was also at the ceremony.
The 47-year-old said: ‘She deserves it. To see her get this after all her hard work is amazing.’
