Havant fire crews called after van rolls into sea

FIREFIGHTERS from Havant were called to attend a potential rescue after a transit van was seen rolling into the sea.

The incident took place near Havant Sea Angling Club at 2pm yesterday afternoon.

By the time fire crews arrived the van was ‘partially submerged’ but fortunately the owner of the van was not in the vehicle and was found safe and well.

The Coastguard were also called to the ‘potential rescue’ incident.

The Fire Service confirmed the van ‘would be recovered once the tide went out and conditions allowed’.

The reason as to why the van ended up in the sea is not yet known.
