Havant's Margaret Fry goes back in time on her 100th birthday

Celebrating her 100th birthday in Roaring Twenties style, Margaret Fry was taken back in time to the era in which she was born.

Following social-distancing guidelines, staff, friends and family at Belmont Castle Care Home, Havant, made sure the birthday girl marked the major milestone on July 8 in a magical way and everyone made a special effort to dress in 1920s’ fashion.

Throughout the day Margaret’s nearest and dearest popped in to join in with the festivities in the garden gazebo allowing everyone to stick to the two-metre rule.

A highlight of the day for Margaret was the opening of her birthday card from the Queen.

Margaret said: ‘It has been a most special day.

‘I feel really spoilt and never expected so much to happen.

‘It’s been the most amazing birthday ever.’
