This is a weekly community event that runs each Saturday, from 10am-midday, in the Westbrook Hall in Cowplain.

We provide a way for people of all ages to meet together and have a chat.

We serve teas, coffees, cakes, biscuits and toast to people – completely free of charge. It’s a great place for families.

We have games and toys available for children, which is especially welcome when the weather isn’t nice enough for children to play in the park next door.

And even when it’s sunny, this is a good place to rest afterwards.

It’s an ideal place for mums, dads, aunties, uncles, grandmas and grandads to sit and relax and talk to each other while children play in safety.

And people who are on their own can come here to meet others and find a friendly face.

These days, when we don’t know our neighbours as well as people used to, and when many of us seem to be living our lives at such a fast pace, it can be good to have a place to relax for a while. People certainly seem to appreciate what we’ve provided.

To celebrate our second birthday, the deputy Mayor of Havant, Councillor Faith Ponsonby, will be joining us this Saturday.

She will cut our birthday cake – and you are all welcome to have a slice!

The project is a joint venture between St Wilfrid’s Church in Padnell Road, and its daughter church, Westbrook Church, which meets in the same hall on a Sunday.

It’s on Tempest Avenue in Cowplain, near the Plough and Barleycorn Pub.

It’s all staffed by volunteers from the congregations, who are just keen to make a difference to those who live here.

It’s just one of the ways in which we try to serve the local community.

If you haven’t been along yet, why not join us on any Saturday of the year?

We can promise you a warm welcome and a hot cuppa!
