SCHOOLS are being urged to sign up for a charity record-breaking attempt.

The national deaf healthcare charity SignHealth is calling for people from Portsmouth to inspire a generation to sign.

SignHealth hopes more than 150,000 children and adults, including several hundred from Portsmouth, will participate in its annual sign2sing event in February and help raise awareness of British Sign Language (BSL).

The event is an attempt to see the most people signing and singing a song at the same time.
