NORDIC walking is being offered to Havant residents for free.

The sport, which began in the 1930s, is a fitness technique originated as an off-season training method used by cross-country skiers using poles to aid walking.

Working with The Forestry Commission, Havant Borough Council is organising free courses for beginners.

It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels with poles and instruction provided. Two courses begin on May 4 at Havant Thicket and involve four sessions. Participants can choose from either 10am to 11.30am or 1.30pm to 3pm.
