AN historic mansion in Horndean will be open to the public on Sunday.

Merchistoun Hall, in Portsmouth Road, which is 250 years old and home to Horndean Community Association, will be holding an open day.

The event will include live music in the afternoon and displays of regeneration plans for the hall.

There will be stalls run by Horndean Business Network and Horndean Parish Council.

Local author Barry Stapleton will also be signing his book Horndean 2000.

Admission is free and the hall is open from 11am to 4pm.
