HUNDREDS of people are expected at the Mountbatten Centre for a huge fitness competition.

Former Paratroopers Ray Pharoah and Mike Eburne, owners of Crossfit Southern Legion in Hilsea, are running the inaugural Double Impact competition on July 19.

Teams across the country, and Europe, have taken part in qualifiers for the event which will see the fittest of the fit battle it out in doubles for the Double Impact live final.

Donations from ticket sales will go to a forces charity.

Ray, 37, from Hilsea, said: ‘Although it’s a fitness competition it will be a fun event for all the family. There will be a lot of tension and excitement. We hope this will be the first of many.’
