It's not too late to enter our Retail & Leisure Awards

The awards, in its second year after the success of last year’s launch, celebrates excellence in the retail and leisure industry across the region.

Nominations have already been pouring in, but retailers are still urged to enter before the closing date on Friday, August 5.

Mark Waldron, editor of The News, said: ‘The response to this year’s awards scheme has been fantastic and I am especially pleased to see so many businesses have already entered.

‘We pride ourselves on supporting our local retail and leisure businesses – no matter how big or small they are.

‘These awards allow these businesses and their hard-working employees to gain the recognition they deserve.

‘I would encourage all retailers in the area to get their entry in before it is too late.’

Businesses can gain recognition in 10 categories.

They include Independent Retailer of the Year, Leisure Venue of the Year, Fashion Retailer of the Year and Community Contribution Award.

Individuals will also be celebrated for their efforts, with awards such as Team Member of the Year and Manager of the Year up for grabs.

The winners will be announced at a gala black tie dinner to be held at Portsmouth Guildhall on September 17.

The awards are being supported by Cascades Shopping Centre, Fareham Shopping Centre, Gunwharf Quays, Meridian Shopping Centre and Whiteley Shopping Centre.
