PREPARATIONS are under way for one of the area’s biggest summer shows.

The theme for this year’s Bedhampton Summer Show, at Bidbury Mead, is jubilee.

The popular Solent Dogs Display Team and the Aziza Dance Troup will keep the crowds entertained while mums and dads are busy working on costumes for the children’s fancy dress competition.

Portsmouth City Band will perform.

This year the usual stalls, full of homemade cakes, and sideshows will be joined by an exhibition of Bedhampton’s connections with the royal family.

St Thomas’ Church will be open to display paintings and drawings produced by local children.

Bidbury Mead Friends will invite votes on the best location for a Jubilee Oak Tree to be planted later in the year.

The event starts at 2pm on July 7 at the recreation ground.
