AN AMBITIOUS Facebook campaign has resulted in thousands being raised to help families of children with Down Syndrome.
Law firm Warner Goodman promised to donate £1 to the Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association for every new Facebook ‘like’ (up to 2,000) they could get during National Down Syndrome Awareness Week.
In total 3,843 likes were generated and the firm donated £2,337.66; £2,000 for the ‘likes’ and £337.66 from a dress-down day the company held.
Rachael Ross, chair and director of fundraising for the association, said: ‘A huge thank-you to Warner Goodman.
‘Not only did we completely smash our target of 2,000 likes, but with the support of the Warner Goodman team, we were successful in spreading awareness far and wide.’
Claire Battye, partner at Warner Goodman, said: ‘We’re proud to have been a key part of the businesses and members of the public that helped achieve this wonderful result.’
