THE city council has refused to release legal advice it gave to the safeguarding children’s board about a report into Ashya King.

The News asked Portsmouth City Council to hand over the advice under the Freedom of Information Act due to legal privilege.

The advice led the board to withhold a full report compiled after five-year-old Southsea cancer sufferer Ashya’s parents took him out of hospital.
