I live in Richmond Road which backs directly on to Daedalus airfield.
I have been here for the past seven years and in all that time nothing has been done to reuse the derelict mess hall and officers’ quarters and buildings – they are slowly falling into disrepair.
We do not need a ‘white elephant’ power plant, at least not until we get the road infrastructure sorted out.
We still have no date for a bypass as it isn’t funded yet.
Why build any more on the Daedalus site until we get the gridlock sorted out?
Fareham council doesn’t really care about the Gosport or Lee residents as is obviously the case.
Daedalus could have been a great site for the community but it looks like it’s going to be 80 per cent housing and 20 per cent industrial with no leisure facilities.
It’s such a shame our councils have such a short-sighted attitude.
Look at Goodwood - that’s a real success story.
Wake up, FBC. No more development should be permitted until the Stubbington bypass has been built and finished and all roads/junctions and improvements signed off.
