The mayor of Gosport, Cllr Keith Farr, will visit the Gosport cadets’ weekly meeting at the first-aid charity’s centre at Regent Trade Park, Barwell Lane.
The mayor will speak to the cadets about their volunteering experience with St John Ambulance and will be shown some basic first-aid skills, such as how to put someone into the recovery position and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Area manager James Grant said: ‘We’re delighted to welcome the mayor to our weekly training session and to give the cadets an opportunity to showcase the life-saving skills they learn as a young St John Ambulance volunteer.’
St John Ambulance believes every young person should have the opportunity to learn basic life-saving skills in a fun, safe and supportive environment.
