A MYSTERY milkman was thanked today for helping find a dog which had been missing for two days.

Margaret Bishton launched a frantic search in the Waterlooville area for her black toy poodle Jack.

She scoured the streets and put up posters to try to find the three-year-old which she has had for just two months.

Margaret, of Athena Avenue, Crookhorn, said Jack vanished when he bolted on Monday afternoon from Padnell Avenue, Waterlooville.

‘He was being looked after by friends while I was at work when he shot out of the door. They chased him up London Road but they couldn’t catch him,’ said Margaret.

She and friends spent the rest of the day searching for Jack and on Tuesday she put up the posters.

Margaret added: ‘I got up at 5am and started looking for him as did some friends. I did the same the next day and a milkman spotted him near Catherington Lane. I can’t tell you how thankful I am to him.’ Margaret said Jack was none the worse for his adventure.
