Student Andrew Salt has not been seen since his mother Lisa dropped him at the Morrison’s car park, near the international ferry port, Portsmouth, on Monday evening.

Mr Salt, 22, said he was going to visit a friend and had no wallet or mobile phone with him. When he failed to return home the next day Mrs Salt, from Widley, became concerned.

She rang the port and it was confirmed Mr Salt was on a ferry which docked in St Malo on Tuesday morning.

She said: ‘We have absolutely no idea what he is there and we are very worried. It is totally out of character. He has no money and no phone. He has never done anything like this before.’

Call police on 101 with information.
