Jason said: ‘Lindsey passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends.

‘Anybody is welcome to the funeral to say goodbye to her.

‘We are asking people to wear red as that was one of her wishes.’

He added: ‘We want to say thank you to everyone who donated money and for everything the public did.’

Lindsay’s funeral is on September 28 at 1.45pm at St Thomas a Becket Church, off Church Lane in Warblington.

The day will be paid for by Shane Yerrell who presented a cheque to Lindsey and her family last month.

Shane, of Essex, runs community interest company Through The Fight, which aims to support people in desperate need.

He was inspired to help Lindsey and her family after reading of her plight in The News at the end of June. He donated £3,921.

At the time, Jason said: ‘Shane is a fantastic person and he will always be a hero to us.
