IT’S not what you expect to see on a journey into Portsmouth.

But this photograph shows what greeted Chris Shemeld when he was driving into the city yesterday morning.

The cloud – which looks like a tornado – was spotted above Farlington Marshes at 8.30am.

The 33-year-old, of Honeysuckle Court in Waterlooville, stopped his car to take a photograph.

He said: ‘I actually thought it was a small tornado. That was my first impression.

‘We turned round the road and spotted it so we pulled over to take a look. It was worth a look to take some photos.

‘It just seemed to disappear eventually.

‘A lot of people have been talking about it after I posted the pictures on Facebook.’
