A MAJOR retailer is looking to boost the coffers of a Solent charity with a new fundraising deal.

The Southern Co-operative’s head office and neighbouring convenience store at 1000 Lakeside, Portsmouth, is looking for a charity partner based in the Solent to fundraise for through 2016/17.

The scheme is part of the firm’s Love Your Neighbourhood community drive.

Charities seeking support need to show how they back one of four key themes of the group’s community-lead project – greener neighbourhoods, safer neighbourhoods, healthier neighbourhoods and more inclusive neighbourhood.

Successful causes will enjoy the support of Southern Co-operative for 2016/17 fundraisers, which could include anything from a sky dive and abseil to runs and weight loss challenges.

To apply see thesouthernco-operative.co.uk/makingadifference/local-partnerships/and or email community@southerncoops.co.uk for the deadline of Sunday, July 31.
