The festival is an opportunity for local artists from Lee and the surrounding area to share their creativity with the wider community.

We have already found a huge amount of artistic skill in our town and area
– painters, actors, musicians, writers, sculptors, singers, poets, and many more.

And we’re hoping to bring all of this talent together for the festival, which will run from July 1-9 this year.

The planning group for the festival is made up of a number of committed locals who know there is a lot of talent in our local area and want to celebrate this.

These include representatives from Lee Residents, St Faith’s Church, Lee Bookshop, Lee Art Group, Lee Players, Lowry Art Group, and Lee Choral Society.

We’ve been meeting as a planning group since the end of September, and even we have been surprised at the breadth of talent all around us.

Lee Festival of the Arts is a showcase for all the many arts people are involved in.  Throughout the period of the f'estival there will be an art trail around the town, with local artists displaying their works in shops and businesses.

There will also be music concerts, plays, art demonstrations, dancing, craft displays, and much more!

These will take place across Lee-on-the-Solent, in community spaces, pubs, churches, clubs, other indoor venues, and also outside.

There are still plenty of opportunities to get involved in the festival.

Do you have an artistic skill you’d like to show to the local community?  We’d love to hear from you!

Shop owners in Lee-on-the-Solent are being invited to offer a shop window to exhibit one or more pieces of artists’ work during the week of the Lee Festival of the Arts.
