A NEW eco-friendly education centre will host a food market twice a month.
Good quality, local produce will be at the heart of a new venture at Tuppenny Barn, off Main Road in Southbourne, near Emsworth.
Already well known for its own organic fruit and vegetables, the barn will welcome other producers to showcase their goods.
The first market is on Saturday, February 7.
Tuppenny Barn is a smallholding that was founded by forces veteran Maggie Haynes.
Hundreds of schoolchildren have visited the site to learn about growing food.
Mrs Haynes said: ‘Supporting local producers is one of our main aims and our customers can be confident that by buying produce from the market they will know where it has come from and that the number of food miles it has travelled is minimal.
‘Attending the first market will be stallholders offering jams and chutneys, organic ketchups and locally-reared beef.’
The market takes place from 9am to midday.
