PEOPLE are being encouraged to get back into the water at a series of swimming sessions in Chichester.

The council-run Westgate Leisure Centre has launched sessions to help improve confidence in the water.

The sessions run on Wednesdays from 12.30pm to 1.30pm and on Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm and booking is not necessary.

Councillor Eileen Lintill, who is in charge of leisure at Chichester Council, said: ‘Swimming is a great way to tone up and keep healthy, and it’s something that all the family can take part in. The new Swimfit sessions are all about improving your swimming and making sure that you can confidently spend time in the water.’
