Daisy’s hair, as well as money she has raised, will go to the trust.

The charity provides real hair wigs to boys and girls who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

The charity has been providing hair for boys and girls across the area for more than 10 years.

Daisy, from Portsmouth, says: ‘I wanted to help other young girls feel like a little princess.’

Paula Kenward, Daisy’s auntie, nominated her for the We Can Do It award.

She says: ‘I think Daisy is a very brave little girl.’

Daisy had her hair cut at the Hair Unlimited Shop in Stamshaw earlier this month.

It was done by her cousin Zoe Elliot, who cut Daisy’s long blonde hair, which went down to the bottom of her back, to shoulder-length.

Daisy explains: ‘I was nervous but excited at the same time. I am proud of myself.

‘My friends from Langstone Junior School said my new hair was really soft.

‘They said it made me look older.’

After having her hair cut, the plait was made into a wig and donated to The Little Princess Trust.

The wig cost £350 to make, which Daisy was able to pay for after raising £550.

Friends and family were proud and amazed at how Daisy went ahead with such a transformation at such a young age.

Her dad Andrew, 32, says: ‘Daisy had no doubts that she wanted to have it cut.

‘I’m so proud of her.’
