THE streets are bright in Titchfield this festive season as more than 300 houses have mini Christmas trees displayed on their walls.

A group of volunteers known as the Titchfield Elves organise for the trees to be ordered by locals every year from tree company Titchfield Ablaze.

Tessa Short, a Titchfield Elf who sells the trees at Titchfield Ablaze, said: ‘I had the idea of getting the trees displayed a few years ago, and it’s grown from having half-a-dozen people do it to more than 300.

‘We put up notices around the area asking if people want to get a tree for their home, they fill in a form, and it gets delivered to me. Then they pick up the trees.

‘It brightens up the streets so much.’
