PO2 7HP was one of two winning postcodes to pick up lottery’s Saturday Street Prizes.

Two lucky winners, who play with two tickets, scooped £50,000 while their two neighbours walked away with £25,000 each.

For mum-of-one Paula Doherty, her £25,000 win has come at a wonderful time.

‘I did not have a clue that I’d won this much,’ she said. ‘I’m so delighted.’

‘We’ve been saving hard for a deposit for a new house but with things like legal fees to worry about, we were starting to worry about how long it would take,’ said Paula.

‘This will massively accelerate the process – I’ll be looking at houses this afternoon!’

With a house move on the horizon, Paula said she might also look for a holiday.

‘I work in a travel agency which can be very tempting,’ she says.

‘I’ve noticed there is a Christmas offer to Disneyland Paris.

‘ I may need to have another look for my partner and I and our three-year-old girl.’

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson was on hand to present Paula with her cheque.

‘It was great being in Portsmouth and meeting the lovely Paula.

‘Winning this money should speed up the process of moving house for her family and I wish them the very best of luck.’

Three other players with the same postcode as Paula–PO2 7HP – also scooped the Saturday Street Prize on 15 October, 2016.

The other winners were not available to receive their cheques.

Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £148.3 Million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A project near the winners that has received support from players is Hannah’s Holiday Home Appeal, which was awarded £2,000 this year for their Outside Fun project.
