A TOUCH of France will be brought to Fareham as part of a celebration of 800 years of markets.

Croissants, baguettes, charcuterie and cheeses will be on offer at a French market

Markets have been held in Fareham since 1212.

Today, a general market runs every Monday and a farmers’ market is held the first Saturday of the month.

The one-off French market will play host to traders from Normandy and Brittany.

Their stalls will be selling a wide range of goods including toys, gifts, clothing and cosmetics. Fresh bread will also be baked on site.

The stalls will be on West Street, Fareham, from 10am until 2pm on Sunday, December 2.
