KEEN sportsmen and women, and those who aim to be, can sign up for the Chichester triathlon and junior aquathon.

Entry is now open for both events, which start at Westgate Leisure Chichester.

The junior aquathon takes place on July 14 and the triathlon on July 15. There is also a mini triathlon.

Councillor Eileen Lintill, who is in charge of wellbeing at Chichester District Council, said: ‘Last year’s triathlon and junior aquathon were a great success with more than 600 competitors having a go.

‘The events are suitable for all ages and levels of experience, from the beginner to the more experienced triathlete. With the London 2012 Olympics just a few months away we hope more people will take up the challenge.’

The triathlon costs £35.50 for BTF members and £44 for non-BTF members. The aquathon costs £10.50 and £13 for non BTF members.
