Open studio event for Portsmouth artist

A MOTHER-of-two from Portsmouth is opening her studio to the public this weekend.

Lucy Goodman is a potter and stained glass artist, who does most of her work in her garden shed.

Now, she is opening up her work to the public, using her house in Jubilee Avenue, Portsmouth, as a studio for the day.

Lucy said: ‘I have a shed in my back garden which I have been using for my work – that is, when I’m not doing schoolruns or other motherly duties.

‘To be honest, it would just be great to have people come and look at my artwork, and take an interest in my hobby.

‘This isn’t a full-time job, just something I’m passionate about.’

Lucy says she is very much inspired by where she lives, with a lot of her work based around the seaside.

She explained: ‘I sell some of my work at the country market in Portchester every second and fourth Wednesday of the month – the girls come with me sometimes, and they seem to love it!’

The open studio is being held in 58 Jubilee Avenue tomorrow, from 10am-4pm – for more information go to Daisy Rose Design on Facebook.
