A SERIES of summer outdoor film screenings has drawn in crowds as plans for further showings get underway.
The Portsmouth Film Society continues its ‘Sunset’ film shows this month with Trainspotting, which has already sold out, and will follow this with an end-of-season film.
Cult movie Withnail and I will be shown on Thursday, July 9, with an introduction by Dr Justin Smith, who has written about the film in his book Withnail and Us, and a quiz.
PFS chairwoman Aysegul Epengin said: ‘We are experiencing high volume for our open-air screenings and Portsmouth Film Society is delighted with that. Southsea Castle is the perfect location for this. We are contributing to the city culture immensely. This year we are doing this without any funding.’
More open-air screenings are planned for September and more information can be found at portsmouthfilmsociety.org.uk
