AMATEUR sports teams have the chance of bagging £10,000 for a pitch makeover in a competition.

Outdoor petrol-powered engine manufacturer, Briggs & Stratton, is giving away up to £10,000 to amateur under-18s football, rugby league and cricket teams in its Pitch to Win competition.

The competition is in conjunction with the Institute of Groundsmanship, an organisation for grounds staff, and the winning team will receive expert advice from the IOG as well as a technical evaluation report on how best to maintain their pitch in the future.

Ian Small, from Briggs & Stratton, said: ‘We hope the prize will help to improve their pitches and solve future problems.’

To enter go to pitchtowin.org.uk before March 31.
