Police return one-year-old home amid welfare concerns after being found on Horndean lane

A ONE-year-old was safely returned home by police last night after they were found on a street following concerns for their welfare.

Officers responded to a call after 9pm that a child was on Lovedean Lane, Horndean, before finding the toddler.

A police spokesman said: ‘We were called at 9.13pm following concerns raised for the welfare of a child.

Police attended to ensure the safety of the child.’

The spokesman said full details would not be released but confirmed that the incident was ‘not a missing person report’ before adding: ‘The child was subsequently returned home. No arrests have been made.

‘The child was with a member of the public who called police. Police attended and the child was returned home.’
