Poor August weather leaves the south disappointed

Have your say

THUNDER, lightning and rain is what Portsmouth is having on a day which many would say should be full of sun, fun and ice cream.

People across the area currently stand disappointed with the poor British weather we have seen this August.

From plummeting temperatures and wet weather, to thunderstorms and chilly nights.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning over the south today saying thundery intervals were expected throughout the day.

Tonight is forecast to have outbreaks of heavy rain spreading northwards at first, tending to be drier later.

Friday’s forecast sees occasional drier weather with sunny spells with some thundery showers likely.

Moving into the weekend the weather is expected to be much drier with sunny patches, light winds and isolated showers.
