A PORTSMOUTH hairdresser and bridal shop owner has been crowned the regional winner of a television cooking competition.

Andrew Pearce, 46, runs Creatiques and The Dressing Room in Marmion Road, Southsea.

He appeared on ITV1’s Food Glorious Food, in his alter ego as drag queen Miss G, on last night’s show. TV chef Loyd Grossman first sampled the dish Andrew put up – cracked black pepper profiteroles.

It was a winning dish for the celebrity chef, and three other judges crowned it the winning dish for the south east region heat.

Mr Pearce said: ‘It was sensational to be on the programme, meeting everyone, and it was great to win.

‘I think my dish was the strongest out of all the others.’

The winner of the programme will get to see their dish on the shelves of Marks and Spencer, as well as having a cash prize of £20,000.
