FORMER workers from a garage have been invited to a reunion.

The United Services Garage, opposite the Coach and Horses pub, in London Road, Hilsea, opened in 1924 and was run by the Sharp family until they sold it in 1989 and Douglas Sharp retired.

On the outside of the once iconic white building, which was demolished and has now been rebuilt, was a clock which Mr Sharp, from Hayling Island has managed to trace.

He said; ‘I had a call this morning to say it had been found at the bus museum in Portchester.

‘So when we turn back the clock at the reunion we can talk about this clock.’

All former employees are welcome at the ‘noggin and natter’ event at The Fountain Inn, Rowlands Castle, on Sunday from midday to 4pm.
