COMPETING in one marathon is enough for most people – but a Portsmouth personal trainer aims to complete seven in as many days for a charity.

Patryk Huczkowski, a personal trainer at Puregym in Arundel Street, Landport, will run a marathon on a treadmill every day from December 17.

He will then finish his gruelling task with the Portsmouth Coastal Waterside Marathon on December 23.

He is raising money for the Portsmouth-based charity Motiv8 – an organisation for young people aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour through support in accessing better life opportunities.

Mr Huczkowski, 32, who lives in Aylward Street, Portsea, said: ‘I have run the Portsmouth marathon before so I know what to expect in that sense.

‘But of course the most difficult challenge I see is changing my running technique to run on the treadmill.

‘I know what pain feels like and it’s going to be difficult but I will be surrounded by my friends and family cheering me on.’

John Maddox, gym manager, said: ‘It’s for a great cause and we wish Patryk the very best of luck.’
