A CELEBRATION of Portsmouth’s literary heritage – and current talent – will take place tonight.

It is in the Square Tower in Old Portsmouth and will see authors and poets read extracts from the city’s great writers, such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Charles Dickens, and give a series of talks, as well as perform some of their own works.

The event is from 7pm to 9pm and is free.
