A NEW service has been launched to help unemployed people into volunteering.

The Opening Doors Project and has been funded by a grant from the Lloyds TSB Foundation.

Project worker Janet Duggan has been taken on by the Volunteer Centre, in Havant, and will be providing information and support to unemployed people.

This Saturday, Mrs Duggan will be giving information about the project at Party In The Park, in Havant Park, which offers advice about getting back into work, finding out about college courses or volunteering in a range of settings.

Mrs Duggan said: ‘If you are unemployed and want to find out about all different kinds of volunteering opportunities available in the charity sector, come along on Saturday between 11am and 4pm.

‘There are a wide range of roles on offer to suit all ages and interests from conservation to gardening to name just a few.’
