AN AUTHOR has followed up his first three books with a collection of more than 40 previously unpublished short stories, poems, reviews and scripts.

David E Gates from Portsmouth has just released First Words, where everything from short horror stories to moving poetry is included.

In this collection of works dating back over three decades, there’s also film reviews and short-film scripts.

David has written a number of short stories, a full-length motion picture screenplay and a screenplay to a short film, and is currently working on his second novel called The Climbing Frame.

He is also working on a sequel to his first horror novel, The Roots of Evil.

The Wretched, a horror story set in and around Portsmouth, is due to be released by the end of the year.
