A GROUP of punters and employees from a local pub are set to swim and cycle to support the Tom Prince Cancer Trust.

Staff and locals from The Festing will swim from Clarence Pier to South Parade Pier in Southsea on Sunday.

They will then take on a 10 mile bike ride.

The event will support the charity which was set up by the family of Tom Prince who died of the bone cancer osteosarcoma a day before his 16th birthday.

Dad Clinton said: ‘When you think of what these guys are doing you have got to take your hat off to them for their sheer determination and dedication.

‘It’s a fantastic atmosphere. It’s absolutely fantastic what they do.

‘I’m full of praise and admiration for them all.’

The swim will start at Clarence Pier at 11am.

People are invited to cheer the swimmers on and walk along the seafront to the pier with them.
