FIREFIGHTERS and RSPCA officers were called to rescue a stag that got its head caught in a steel gate.

They went to High Street, Selsey, at about 8am on Monday and found the male deer trapped.

Within 20 minutes the stag was released. It was left in the care of the RSPCA.
