LEGENDARY sailor Alan Priddy has spoken of his disappointment at having to withdraw from the Jubilee Thames river pageant.

Mr Priddy hopes to smash the record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe later this year in a custom-built boat, Accomplish More.

The vessel was due to take part in the flotilla but could not be finished in time.

Mr Priddy said: ‘We’re disappointed to miss the pageant, but we hope to make up for it by rounding off the year in spectacular style.’
