HILL Head Hair is inviting all customers - old and new - to help celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The popular family-run unisex salon is holding an afternoon of celebration on January 31, where all are invited to visit and have a drink, and see just what makes Hill Head Hair so special.
Some of its original customers who have been using the salon throughout the past 50 years will be there also.
Life for the business started when Beryl Lee was just 15 years old, beginning as an apprentice hairdresser at Dimmers in Lee-on-Solent.
She then opened Beryl Hairstyling in 1961 and a year later her and her husband Ern celebrated the birth of daughter Rachael, who would go on to later manage the salon.
In the 70s, Ern completed his hair styling training and became a practising hairdresser and the couple bought their first premises from the leaseholder and began offering hair styling to both men and women, in Crofton Lane.
Having worked her way up from an apprentice, Rachael took over the running of the business, under the name of Hill Head Hair, when her parents retired.
Hill Head Hair has been privileged to have served some notable clients.
These include past Mayors of Fareham, a recognisable current Sky Sports presenter and a well known celebrity chef - when they both lived in the area.
Rachael is constantly looking to improve the salon and the quality of service offers, and has recently introduced a range of beauty treatments.
Her daughter Fiona has been in the salon for nearly four years and has achieved Level 3 in hairdressing,
Rachael, Beryl and Ern would like to thank all their family, friends and customers for their continued support over the years, in helping to make the business a success and also thank the existing staff, who’s hard work has made the company what it is today.
