THE community is being asked to decide which good causes should benefit from a pot of cash.

The voting session takes place at the Acorn Community Centre in Wecock Farm and six local projects are applying for £500.

It is part of the WeBigLocal scheme, which will help boost the estate over the coming years with £1m of funding.

The project has already been a hit.

Michelle Wilding, project manager, said: ‘Having asked the community what they wanted, WeBigLocal have listened and as a result we have opened the Acorn Centre on Saturdays with dance sessions for pre-schoolers, adults and young people. Last weekend our wonderful board members opened the café up to serve bacon butties, chicken wraps and fruit pots.’

The meeting starts tonight at 7pm.
