LESBIAN, gay, bisexual and transgender role models are being sought to visit schools and colleges in the lead-up to next year’s Portsmouth Pride.
Organisers of the event will launch a ‘school and college project’ as a way of attracting more people in 2016.
Chair of the organisers Craig Willcock said the team behind Portsmouth Pride were thrilled with the response to this year’s event, which was the first in the city for 12 years.
Mr Wilcock added: ‘We have already started preparing for 2016.
‘We’ll be looking at how we can make the parade bigger and even more exciting, and seeing if we can find a route so that more people can watch or join in.
‘The reaction to Portsmouth Pride has been fantastic.

‘It confirmed that there’s clearly a need for an event that celebrates diversity and equality in Pompey.’
In preparation for next year’s event people will also be able to take part in a feedback survey called ‘Help shape the future of Portsmouth Pride’.
The survey will be available soon on portsmouthpride.co.uk in order for organisers to find out what needs to be added, improved or refined for next year.
